For each engine, we run 5 buyer-intent prompts about your category and parse the AI's response for mentions of your brand. The composite score combines mention frequency (40%), position within the answer (30%), and sentiment / framing (30%). The full methodology lives in the "How the score works" section above.

For the free preview we generate 5 category-templated buyer-intent prompts (e.g. "best [category] tool 2026", "[brand] vs alternatives", "enterprise [category] software"). The paid SemlyPro plan uses 50+ prompts including custom ones you define.

AI answers are non-deterministic — running the same prompt twice can produce slightly different responses. We currently show a preview score based on deterministic heuristics. Live LLM-verified scoring (where we actually query the engines in real time) requires a paid SemlyPro plan, where we run each prompt multiple times and average the result.

Each preview audit is generated fresh when you run it. We cache by domain for 24 hours to manage rate limits. Live LLM scoring on the paid plan refreshes daily by default, hourly on Enterprise.
